TEA FOR MOOD
CHAMOMILE HOPS LEMON BALM ST. JOHN'S WORT VALERIAN PEPPERMINT LICORICE STAR ANISE | EFFECTS INDICATIONS FOR USE SUGGESTED USE |
EXPLANATORY NOTES
This is a mood-brightening formula; it is similar in nature to Tea for Tension, where lemon balm, valerian, and hops are the usual herbs given in European herbal practice to calm anxiety and nervous energy. But, here, chamomile and St. John's Wort are added for their antidepressant effects. Peppermint, licorice, and star anise have a soothing action on the digestive system.
COMBINING
For those who are suffering from anxiety and tension, the tea can be combined with Tea for Tension. Persons suffering from significant digestive system complaints may wish to use this tea along with Tea for Digestion.
CAUTIONS
If symptoms persist, see your doctor. Limit use during pregnancy to no more than two teabags each day. To avoid drug interactions, do not take the tea the same time as drugs are taken and do not exceed suggested dosage.
St. John's Wort Sedative: for depression, anxiety, irritability, nervous tension. Modern findings: this herb has become one of the most intensively investigated herbs in modern times due to the possibility that it acts as a safer but equally effective antidepressant when compared to several modern drug therapies. However, it does have the potential to interact with other drugs by affecting the drug metabolizing enzymes. |
